Document Description
The project will replace the existing I-80 westbound on-ramp and the westbound off-ramp located on the eastern side of YBI with a new westbound on-ramp and a new westbound off-ramp that will improve the functional roles of the current ramps. The purpose of the project is to improve the traffic safety, geometric design, and traffic operation levels of service of the westbound on- and off-ramp located on the east side of YBI.
The project will address geometric and operational deficiencies of the existing on- and off- ramps and their effects on the SFOBB I-80 mainline without degrading the Bridge operation. The proposed new westbound ramps will improve operations and provide connections between YBI and the transition structure of the new SFOBB East Space Seismic Safety Project, which is currently under construction.
