Document Description
The Phase 1 of the Downtown Indio infrastructure project will consist of the reconstruction and enhancement of Miles Avenue between Oasis Street and Smurr Street and Towne Street between Indio Boulevard and Bliss Avenue as well as surrounding facilities such as parking lots, parks, and alleyways. The improvements proposed mainly consist of aesthetic enhancements to the Indio Downtown area, including: repair and repaving of streets, sidewalks, alleys, and parking lots; incorporation of amenities to beautify the downtown area and meet ADA requirements; landscaping enhancements to park areas in the Downtown. In addition, the project will also replace existing sewer and water infrastructure facilities due to age or location.

Streetscape improvements will leave existing paving treatment and existing awnings untouched. New landscaping will be added within the sidewalk areas, and trees will be planted along the street to provide summer shade and winter foliage. All streetscape improvements will be completed within existing available rights of way. New lighting, service lines, and trash enclosures will be constructed.
