The building will be demolished using an excavator and the materials will be placed in large dumpsters to be hauled-off to a county facility. A small temporary trailer has been installed near the building. A larger temporary trailer will be obtained and placed on the area vacated by the building to be demolished. Notice of Exemption

Exempt Status
Categorical Exemption
Type, Section or Code
Class1,2,3, and 4
Reasons for Exemption
Sec.15301,15302,15303, and 15304 This project is within an existing facility and much of the work will take place upon a disturbed site. Class 2 (c) describes replacement and reconstruction of existing utility systems and facilities involving negligible expansion of capacity. That fits this project well, as does Class 3 (d) covering water main improvements. The portions of the project requiring excavations of undisturbed land are minor and fit under Class 4 - Minor Alterations to Land. This project will not have a significant effect on the environment. Prior to reaching this conclusion, however, the Department first conducted an environmental impact analysis to confirm that no Exceptions exist at the project site which would preclude the use of a Categorical Exemption. The possible exception that CAL FIRE considered include (a) sensitive location, (b) cumulative impact, (c) significant impact due to unusual circumstances, (d) impacts to scenic highways, (e) activities within a hazardous waste site, and (f) significant adverse change to the significance of a historical resource.
