Document Description
This project will masticate approximately 14 acres of brush, dead material, and small trees owned by the Mourelato's Lakeside Resort. The goal is to reduce the fire hazard by removing ladder fuels and breaking the ground fuel continuity. The overstory consists of conifer groups with large openings between - and these openings are dominated by brush or thickets of saplings. No perennial stream within 1000 feet and no seasonal watercourses in project area.

Minor Alterations to Land
This project will be categorically exempt from CEQA as a Minor Alteration due to the fact that only brush or small trees will be removed and ground disturbance will be minimal. Masticated material and ground cover will remain to reduce exposed soil. Cut brush will retain its root structure and re-sprout to reduce erosion. There are no SEZ issues associated with this project. An archaeological survey was conducted on the site, resulting in no found significant sites. A Lahontan (LRWQCB) waiver has been submitted.
