Document Description
State law requires every city and county to develop a long-term comprehensive general plan for the physical development of the city or county. The housing element is one of seven mandatory elements of the general plan. Unlike the other mandatory elements of the general plan, the housing element must be reviewed every five years by a state agency, the Department of Housing and Community Development. This project only involves the analysis of potential future housing needs within the City and involves no development or changes to the environment.
