Document Description
As both Lead Agency and project sponsor, the City of Watsonville is proposing to develop public access to the Pajaro River adjacent to the existing Watsonville Wastewater Treatment Facility (WWTF) located off Beach Road, west of Watsonville. The location of the project, which would be developed adjacent to a new recycled water treatment facility and operations/office building currently under construction immediately east of the WWTF. The project would consist of construction of a trailhead parking lot, restroom facilities, interpretive signage, a trail leading to a riverside put-in for small watercraft such as kayaks and canoes, and a second spur trail leading to a river overlook. The river banks adjacent to the canoe put-in would also be stabilized as part of the project. The Pajaro River, which is confined by levees for flood control, is about 150 ft. south of the WWTF and about 500ft. south of the proposed parking lot.
