Document Description
Repair and expansion of the Iron Canyon Fish Ladder in Bidwell Park. Project work includes: 1) clearing and preparation of a staging area on the top of the bluff; 2) scaling of the canyon wall to remove any statically or seismically unstable rock which could fall and injure workers in the creek; 3) installation of an emergency egress system including attachment of an elevator type system to the canyon wall and construction of a bridge from the canyon rim to the top of the egress system; 4) installation of at least one equipment platform in the canyon to support compressors and other equipment; 5) physical removal of boulders through the use of jackhammers, crowbars and possibly other mechanical equipment; 5) physical removal or repair of damaged weirs and pools in the fishway; 7) construction of additional pools and weirs to improve the fish ladder; 8) installation of additional fish passage slots; 9) demobilization and removal of all construction equipment and subsequent Revegetation of impacted areas within the project.
