Document Description
The VYC proposes to replace the existing degraded timber breakwater with a new steel breakwater located further into the channel of the Mare Island Strait. The existing degraded 894-foot long timber breakwater would be removed and replaced with a new 1,355-foot long steel sheet pile breakwater extending out about 80 feet to create a larger harbor; the outer face of the new alignment would be approximately in line with the outer face of the adjacent Vallejo Municipal Marina breakwater. The sheet piles would be installed to a minimum of 30 feet below the existing mud line.
