Document Description
The proposed area of restoration is the extent where periwinkle is (~0.04 acres). The periwinkle runs down the slope of the swale area closest to the Coale residence to the seasonal drainage in a swath approximately twenty feet wide. In this area hand removal of periwinkle roots will be completed and erosion control installed by hired restoration crews. USDA NRCS Practice requirements (643, 342) will be followed in the implementation of this restoration project. The removal of invasive plants from the site and replanting with natives will improve habitat for a variety of birds and butterflies as well as other wildlife in the area.
