Document Description
PG&E proposes to replace two aging 246-foot tall towers in the Napa River, approximately 7 miles from Carquinez Strait. The Napa River is approximately 2,000 feet wide in the project area and the two towers to be repaired are approximately 150 feet from the east and west bank of the river. The replacement towers will be built in the same locations on the existing concrete foundations, which will be retrofitted to repair cracks and exposed rebar. The areas around the footings of towers 15/106 and 15/107 will be dewatered using cofferdams installed around each footing. The two cofferdams will both be approximately 165 feet by 80 feet, covering an area of approximately 26,400 square feet. After the footings have been dewatered, they will be excavated so that any necessary repairs to the foundation can be made. Clean, crushed rock will be permanently placed in the dewatered cofferdams and recovered with excavated sediment upon completion of the project. Issuance of a Streambed Alteration Agreement Number 1600-2008-0164-3 is pursuant to Fish and Game Code Section 1602.
