Document Description
CDCR's Upgrade Sewage Grinder System project proposes the design and construction of upgrades to the wastewater system at RJD. The project consists of the installation of a new sewage grinding system (auger monsters), including a new concrete pit that will house this equipment. The auger monster grinds, screens and separates the solids from the waste stream. The scope of work includes installing two auger monsters, rerouting the existing sewer line to a new concrete pit, located 20 feet below, which will house this equipment. This project is necessary to bring the facility into compliance with the City of San Diego's industrial wastewater discharge requirements.
