Document Description
The Applicant proposes to alter the streambed by replacing the existing bridge with a new safe structure, with wider lanes and shoulders in order to comply with the current highway standards. The new bridge will have two 12 foot lanes and 8 foot wide shoulders at each side. The length will increase from 120 feet to 180 feet. This design required ungrouted rock rip-rap on the banks and fewer abutments. The existing bridge contains 9 abutments and the new bridge has 2 abutments and wingwalls. There will be a temporary culvert and crossing placed just downstream of the existing bridge to allow for vehicle traffic. The culvert will be a large concrete box, pre-cast, and sunk into the substrate to prevent scour and to allow for fish passage.
