Document Description
This project is a Use Permit Modification proposed by Cold Creek Compost, Inc. (CCC) to amend the original Use Permit (#U 26-93) for a mixed solid waste composting facility on the Guntly Ranch, ~1.5 miles northeast of the State Highway 20 and Eastside Potter Valley Road intersection. The site is about 600 ft higher in elevation, and 3/4 mile east of the East Fork of the Russian River and 1 mile north of Cold Creek. The project area is surrounded by the 3,700 acre Ranch devoted mainly to rangeland for cattle, firewood production and hunting. The compost operation area encompasses 6.7 acres including the compost pad, leachate pond, plus the parking and office area, along with an additional 2 acres to the east used as a storage area for additives and amendments such as lime, gypsum and ash. A roof covers ~1.2 acres of the 3.75 acres compost pad.
