Document Description
The Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) is proposing to add 13,000 square feet (0.3 acre) to an existing substation for the purpose of adding a second large transformer (69,000 volts to 12,000 volts), capacitors, and control system backup battery pack. The Negative Declaration does not identify any potentialy significant environmental impacts that will result from construction of the project. No mitigation is necessary. The expansion will allow SMUD to keep up with new electrical demand from Elk Grove approved development in the nearby area.
