The California Department of Fish and Game is executing Lake or Streambed Alteration Agreement number 1600-2009-0112-R2, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project applicant, Sacramento Area Flood Control Agency (SAFCA)
The Phase 3 SREL and Landside Irrigation and Drainage Infrastructure Components Project includes the following elements: Sacramento River east levee Reaches 5A-9B: Levee raising and seepage remediation, Continuation of construction of the relocated Natomas Central Mutual Water Company (NCMWC) Elkhorn Main Irrigation Canal (highline irrigation canal) downstream of Elkhorn Reservoir, Continuation of construction of the GGS/Drainage Canal south from the southern end of the canal to be constructed in Phase 2, Airport West Ditch, Encroachment management and relocation, Habitat enhancement, development, and management, Borrow site excavation.
