Document Description
The City of Sacramento proposed to construct a pedestrian/bicycle overcrossing (POC) over Interstate 80 adjacent to the Natomas Main Drainage Canal where the Natomas West and Natomas East Drainage canals merge. The City also proposes to construct an at-grade level bridge (Canal Bridge) across the West Drainage Canal to link the north end of the POC with the existing trail. The project will also consist of all railings and fencing, grading, paving and slope protection, signage, and lighting associated with the POC. The POC will consist of a cast-in-place box girder section, supported by two east-in-place concrete abutments and five cast-in-place concrete columns on driven piles. The Canal Bridge will include a pre-manufactured steel truss "flat slab" structure this unit will consist of weathering steel, concrete deck, and smooth steel handrails; it will be designed to be removable as needed by the Reclamation District 1000 for maintenance of the Canal. Concrete will also line the canal bottom under the bridge and 10 feet beyond in both directions.
