Document Description
Granite Construction is applying for a Conditional Use Permit for a water well and Reclamation Plan for an approximately 45-acre site. On August 23, 2007 Granite was declared the successful bidder for a 10-year contract for 500,000 tons of material (spoil bank pile material), from the Bureau of Land Management (BLM case file application CACA 049294). Granite proposes to develop and reclaim the 45 acre area covered by approximately 2,000,000 tons of spoil bank pile material resulting from past gold mining operations at the Padre/Madre mine. If Granite receives approval from BLM for all 2,000,000 tons of material they propose to be on site for at least 20 years and are requesting that the permit be granted for that period.
