Document Description
On November 2, 2011 the March Joint Powers Commission took the following actions: (1) approval of a proposed General Plan amendment to the March JPA General Plan-Land Use Element designating the Project site as "SP-6 Institutional Residential", allowing transitional housing and other supporting uses for homeless U.S. veterans; (2) conducted public hearing and first reading of Ordinance #JPA 11-05 which would establish development standards and design criteria for the US Vets Transitional Housing Program; and (3) approval of Plot Plan PP 10-02 for the 401 bed US Vets campus with an ~37,800 sf administration building, and a 11,200 sf multi-purpose building on ~7.75 acres located at 15305 6th street within the March JPA planning area. The project site is roughly bounded by N Street to the north, 6th Street to the east, 4th Street to the west and Recreation/Open Space to the south.
