Document Description
The 1997 agreement among DWR, MWA, and AVEK, dated November 13, 1997, provides for the change in point of delivery of up to 2,250 acre-feet of MWA's approved Table A water to AVEK's turnout in Reach 19 of the California Aqueduct. MWA's Table A water delivered through AVEK's turnout will then be delivered to the solar power generating plant, operated by Luz Solar Partners, Ltd, III-VII (LUZ). The proposed project is to extend the term of the 1997 Agreement to December 31, 2035 and to increase the delivery amount to up to 4,800 acre-feet. The increased delivery amount will provide for the delivery of up to 1,800 acre-feet annually of MWA's Table A water to AVEK's turnout for subsequent delivery to the plant, and to provide for the delivery of up to 3,000 acre-feet of MWA's approved Table A water in AVEK's groundwater basin under AVEK's WSSP-2 Groundwater Recharge Project as a back-up water supply in the event of an outage on the State Water Project.
