Document Description
At the request of the Department of Water Resources, Division of Safety of Dams, California American Water has initiated the San Clemente Drawdown Project as an interim safety measure to reduce risk of downstream flooding in the event of dam failure following a Maximum Credible Earthquake or Probably Maximum Flood. The project is a mitigation measure to oddest disruption of juvenile steelhead migration and early summer dispersal during the drawdown, through fish trapping, rescue and relocation. Steelhead are able to resume movement following the drawdown through a fish bypass system that is installed at the dam.
