Document Description
CDFW is issuing a CESA Scientific , Educational or Management Permit pursuant to Fish and Game Code section 2081, subdivision (a) for the Project, which authorizes take and possession of the endangered Burke's goldfields (Lasthenia burkei) and endangered Sonoma sunshine (Blennosperma bakeri) for the purposes of promoting new populations of the plants and/or expanding existing population of the plants. The project will involve collecting seed from donor sites, conducting habitat restoration work including removing fill material and re-contouring of pools at establishment sites, inoculating establishment pools with translocated seed, conducting remedial restoration work at establishment sites as needed, monitoring and managing establishment and donor sites and reporting results. Some project activities may involve propagation and production of Burke's goldfields seed at a native plant nursery. The Application for Section 2081 (a) Scientific Collection and Management Permit for the Project, dated August 2015 describes the location and features of the project and the possible project activities that may be implemented under the Project.
