Document Description
The project would require a City Council (Process 5) decision with a formal recommendation made by the Planning Commission for the processing of the following discretionary actions: Community Plan Amendment (CPA) to Progress Guide and General Plan, Mission Valley Community Plan (MVCP), and First San Diego River Improvement Project (FSDRIP) Specific Plan; Planned Development Permit (PDP) for an deviations requested from the underlying zone and to amend Planned Commercial Development (PCD) to amend Special Permit No. 85-0362; Site Development Permit (SDP) to amend Special Permit No. 85-0362; and Tentative Map ™ for condominium development and for any lot changes. The proposed project would redevelop the existing 14.52-acre Hazard Center Plaza to replace the existing movie theater and Prego restaurant with a total of 473 dwelling units and an additional 6,060 square feet of commercial space. The site is designated for mixed-use land uses as identified in the MVCP and within the Mission Valley Planned District (MVPD) MV-M/SP zone and design sensitive zone. The site is located at 7510-7676 Hazard Center Drive, between Frazee Road to the east, Friars Road to the north, and State Route 163 (SR-163) to the west. Access to the site would be from Frazee Road and Hazard Center Drive.
