Document Description
The CA. Dept. of Fish and Game is executing a Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement pursuant to Sec. 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the Project applicant, Mark Switzer, Mark Switzer, Inc. The project consists of the continued operation and expansion of an existing commercial clay mine, wherein amounts of up to approx. 100,000 cubic yards of clay will be extracted annually from upland areas on both sides of Salt Creek. No mining will occur within Salt Creek. Activities within Sal Creek will include installation of culverts for interior mine access roadways, as needed, and movement of overburden across the channel in the process of mining sequential areas of the mine, The streambed will be kept clear of loose dirt and a channel will remain intact to convey water flows. Erosion control along the banks of the streambed will be maintained by revegetating the disturbed areas with native species, and installation of other erosion control measures.
