Document Description
The California Dept. of Public Health is proposing to upgrade a diagnostic facility located on the Dept. of Health Services Richmond Campus. The proposed project would include the renovation and expansion of the existing Viral and Rickettsial Disease Laboratory-Bio-Safety Level 3 (BSL-3) laboratory into a BSL-3 "enhanced" laboratory, mandated requirements by the Centers of Disease Control, for work to be conducted using the avian influenza virus strain H5N1 and other highly pathogenic agencies.
