Document Description
The project would add a sixth floor to Porter College House B, an existing 73,500-gross-square-foot (gsf) student residence hall on the western edge of the central UCSC campus. The existing roof and fifth floor walls will be demolished to the floor slab, the fifth floor walls will be reconstructed and an additional sixth floor and roof will be built. The project will add 18,715 gsf to the existing building and would accommodate 120 new student beds. The project will increase the height of the building from 54 feet to 74 feet. Project construction will take place in conjunction with seismic corrections and capital renewal work at Porter College House B and Porter College Dining Common (a total of 101,802 gsf) previously authorized as the Porter College Seismic and Capital Renewal Phase 1 Project.
