The cleanup project that was subject to approval by DTSC is part of a larger redevelopment project, the Augustine Bowers Office Park that was previously approved by the lead agency, the City of Santa Clara. The cleanup project consists of approval of a Response Plan by the Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) to protect human health and the environment by remediating the soil contaminated with arsenic, lead, dichlorodiphenyldichloroethylene, and dieldrin on the Santa Clara Technology Campus 1 prior to its redevelopment.
