Document Description
The project consists of approval of a Response Plan by the Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) for the Santa Clara Square Office, Phase II and Phase III Development (Site) prior to its redevelopment. DTSC is overseeing cleanup at the Site under agreements pursuant to the California Land Reuse and Revitalization Act of 2004, California Health and Safety Code Section 25395.60 et seq. ("CLRRA"), with 2525 Augustine Drive LLC, 2505 Augustine Drive, LLC, and 3255 Scott Boulevard LLC. The purpose of the Response Plan is to remediate potential risk to human health and the environment by reducing or eliminating future exposure to soils impacted by elevated concentrations of arsenic, lead, dieldrin and 4, 4'-dichlorodiphenyldichloroethylene (DDE) at the Site. Cleanup activities to be conducted pursuant to the Response Plan include the following: -Excavate an estimated 63,000 cubic yards of impacted soil from previously identified locations; -Consolidate the excavate impacted soil on-Site, beneath a "cap" (paved parking lots, buildings and landscaped areas); -Record a land use covenant to restrict land use in the consolidation areas.
