Document Description
The proposed project would result in the reconstruction of the Recycling Center. The structurally defective, rebuild improved Recycling Center office and operational structures, and organize the uses on the site in a way that better serves the public, staff, and the needs of the City. The project would result in the demolition and removal of all existing structures on the site, and the construction of new structures, including Recycling Center offices, Recycling and Reuse Drop-Off areas, vehicle and recycling container storage, an operations building and small shop area. The Recycling Center offices would contain a conference room/classroom, public lobby, expanded office, break/lunch room, locker area, and staff and public restrooms. Other facilities that would be developed on the site include visitor and staff parking spaces, a tipping wall, a community/native plant garden, and other educational and community features. Total interior square footage of the recycling office would be enlarged to ~ 2,200 SF. The project is intended to modernize and improve the operation of the existing Center, and would not increase the capacity of the Center to accommodate additional staff or for recycling operations to substantially increase.
