Document Description
The proposed action by the City includes General Plan and Zoning Amendments, and a comprehensive development code, titled "Land Use Code," for the City. The Land Use Code is intended to replace the current Land Use and Development Guide which has served as the City's zoning ordinance and development guide since the mid 1970s.
The Land Use Code has been prepared to implement the Arcata General Plan: 2020 (AGP). Land Use Code preparation has prompted certain general plan amendments to clarify overall general plan direction and implementation. A series of zoning map amendments are proposed by the City to make the zoning map consistent with the AGP. There is also a series of applicant requested zoning amendments for individual properties within the City to bring the zoning designations consistent with current and planned development.
