Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement number 1600-2018-0221-R2, pursuant to section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the Project applicant, Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD), as represented by Tim Talbert. The project is limited to the removal of riparian vegetation from four culvert crossings and the removal and replacement of six culvert structures located along Union Valley Road and Ice House Road. The vegetation removal and culvert replacements are being undertaken to prepare for roadway improvements planned for 2019, and are part of the larger Upper American River Project Roadway Improvement Project, which comprises a total of 6.4 miles of planned roadway improvements. Trees outside of the riparian areas will also be removed on each side of the roadways in anticipation of the planned road improvements; however this is not included as part of the project for the purposes of this agreement.
