Document Description
The expansion of an existing wastewater treatment facility that is in conjunction with an established milk processing facility. The addition will add 5 retention ponds comprising approximately 22 acres. The ponds are used to break down milk solids in processing dry milk and the by-products are used for animal feed supplement and ethanol. A series of ponds are used to aerate water that is created by the evaporation of milk to a level that is acceptable with the Regional Water Quality Board. The water is used to recharge the ground, provide water for adjacent grape vineyard and also is returned to the Tule Irrigation Canal district.
