Document Description
The Project includes completing repairs of the stormwater conveyance systems on a section of Blackie Road that has been impacted by excess sediment flows, as a result of storm events. Repair will require the Permittee to replace an existing 12-inch culvert with a new 18-inch culvert, place rip-rap along a portion of road where erosion has occurred, and remove silt from the ditches. After the current repairs are completed, the Permittee will continue maintenance necessary to maintain the stormwater conveyance system and road within the Project site over a two year period. As part of the maintenance activities, the Permittee will mow, replace failed culverts, place rip-rap in areas at undercut roadbed locations, remove sediment and debris, and flush silt and debris from existing roadside culverts. The Permittee may be required to remove silt and debris from the ditches and flush culverts multiple times each year, depending upon the frequency, duration, and intensity of storm events. The Project will result in temporary impacts to 1.2 acres of CA tiger salamander (Ambystoma californiense) upland habitat. The Project is expected to result in incidental take of CA tiger salamander, which is designated as a threatened species under CESA.
