The project is the continued operation and landfill expansion of the 100-acre Taft Sanitary Land Fill (SLF) within the permitted facility boundary. The project will result in impacts to the San Joaquin antelope squirrel (Ammospermophilus nelsoni), a species which are designated as threatened under the California Endangered Species Act (CESA). The permit referenced above, as issued by CDFG, authorizes incidental take of the species under CESA that may result with implementation of the project.
