Document Description
The Department of Parks and Recreation proposes to provide immediate public access facilities on the Gaines Parcel, a new acquisition located on the west side of the Butte City Bridge State Route 162 crossing of the Sacramento River. The parcel will be added to Colusa-Sacramento River State Park. The following is a brief summary of the proposed work: - Install 22 parking spaces, including two spaces that are Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant with perimeter vehicle barrier fencing; - Construct two restrooms, one would be ADA compliant; - Construct two ADA compliant drinking fountains; - Create nine picnic sites; - Construct concrete pathways to connect picnic sites, restrooms, and parking; - Remove six acres of existing walnut orchard and temporarily retain 23 walnut trees; - Revegetate with native plants; - Extend electricity from an existing power source to the parcel; - Install a well, 2 hose bibs and irrigation capabilities; and - Install irrigation capabilities to temporarily maintain 23 remaining walnut trees and new native plants.
