Document Description
The CADFG is executing a Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the Project applicant, Ms. Eileen Strong, representing the Big Sur Land Trust. The applicant proposes to build a bicycle trail along the Carmel River. Two (2) segments would be located within DFG jurisdiction and area subject to this Agreement. Each of the two (2) segments would be approximately 8 to 12 feet wide and consist of pavement or decomposed granite. The first segment would be approximately 650 feet in length through upland and riparian vegetation along the left (looking downstream) bank of the Carmel River. The second segment would be approximately 900 feet long and pass through a previously cleared area of riparian forest. Approximately 1,850 cubic yards of cut material and 1,200 cubic yards of fill material would be contained within the Project limits. A total of approximately 0.73 acres of riparian vegetation being affected, with 0.51 acres of impacted occurring in the previously cleared riparian forest area. Approximately 14 riparian trees would be removed as part of the Project. Equipment used will include excavators, backhoe, cement mixer, and other standard construction equipment.
