The proposed system would be approximately 5 miles long with nine stations. In general, the project proposes to utilize modern streetcar technology for approximately two-thirds of the system (generally north of the Irvine Station) and modern transit vehicles (rubber-tired, clean fuel vehicles) for one-third of the system (generally south of the Irvine Station), all modern transit, or all modern streetcar. The system is anticipated to improve regional mobility by providing transportation to 5,300 riders per day.
