Document Description
The Project involves the 14.93-acre expansion of an existing 2.9-acre switching station (for a total 17.83 acre station), including the construction of electrical structures and equipment for transmission lines associated with industrial-sized solar and wind facilities. Project work began in 2014. The Project is expected to result in incidental take of desert tortoise (Gopherus agassizii) and Mohave ground squirrel (Xerospermophilus mohavensis), which are designated as a threatened species under the California Endangered Species Act. The ITP referenced above, as amended, authorizes incidental take of these two species that may occur as a result of Project implementation. Amendment No. 2 allows for the use of biological monitors to assist designated biologists and replaces a figure attachment, correcting a discrepancy.
