Document Description
The project is limited to the repair reconstruction of a fifty foot section of stream-bank along a hairpin turn of Rodeo Creek and the relocation of a pedestrian bridge. The hairpin turn portion of the project proposes to install on-hundred twenty tons of rock toe protection along with native soil fill and a willow pole cutting vegetative mattress. The project will also excavate approximately seventy-five cubic yards of native soil fill, this fill will be used in the fill of the rock veins and in the construction of willow steps downstream of the hairpin that will be used to redirect the channel away from the site of erosion. Access routes will be created through the trimming of tree branches and vegetation and all equipment will operate from above the top of the banks. The pedestrian bridge relocation will move the bridge six feet upstream from its present location on Fern Creek and remove and restore the channel to a more natural condition, no heavy equipment will be employed for this portion of the project. The California Department of Fish and Wildlife is executing a Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement Number 1600-2013-0345-R3 pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project Applicant, Muir Heritage Land Trust as represented by Linus Eukel.
