Document Description
The San Francisco Bicycle Plan would involve the adoption of a citywide bicycle transportation plan (comprised of both the "Policy Framework" and "Network Improvement" planning documents) and phasing of implementation of near-term, long-term and other improvements to the bicycle route network, as well as amendments to the San Francisco General Plan, the San Francisco Planning Code, and the San Francisco Traffic Code. The project sets objectives and identifies policy changes that would enhance the City's bikeability. It also describes the existing bicycle route network (a series of interconnected streets and pathways on which bicycling is encouraged), and identifies gaps within the citywide bicycle route network that require improvement. The project is an update of the existing 1997 San Francisco Bicycle Plan.
