Document Description
The project consists of a ZOA to provide incentives for the production of housing for very low income, lower income, moderate income, and senior households in accordance with Government Code Sections 65915 and 65915.5 (Statewide Density Bonus Law). The Ordinance has been drafted pursuant to the requirements of the Government Code, and therefore codifies state law. The purpose of the Statewide Density Bonus Law is to encourage developers to build affordable housing by requiring local governments to provide incentives to do so, in the form of both: (1) a density bonus, and (2) exceptions from normally applicable zoning and other development standards. The ZOA would apply to all areas of the City where residential uses are allowed.
