The purpose of the VLP is to encourage non-federal landowners to voluntarily enhance, restore, and maintain habitat for sensitive, candidate threatened and endangered species that benefit form maintenance of ranching activities. In exchange for voluntarily enhancing sensitive species habitat, landowners who enroll in the program and comply with all program requirements will receive take authorization for Covered Species associated with routine and ongoing activities.
