RID proposes to transfer to MWD, AVEK, DRWD, KCWA, NCFCWCD, PWD, SBVMWD, TLBWSD (collectively SWP Buyers) water made available through the temporary fallowing of acreage historically planted in rice within RID that would have been planted to rice in 2008 in the absence of the transfer. The fallowed acreage totals less than 20% of the cultivated acreage within the RID.
