Document Description
WCWD proposes to transfer to MWD, AVEK, DRWD, KCWA, NCFCWCD, PWD, SBVMWD, TLBWSD (collectively SWP Buyers) water made available through the temporary fallowing of acreage historically planted to rice within the WCWD that would have been planted to rice in 2008 in the absence of the transfer. The fallowed acreage totals less than 20% of the cultivated acreage within the WCWD. The transfer water would be provided at Lake Oroville and would flow through the natural river channels to the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta, where it would be pumped at the SWP Banks Pumping Plant.
