Proposed modifications to the secondary process will lower ammonia concentration in the plant effluent to meet the current National Pollutant Discharge Elimination Systems permit requirements. The proposed improvements include rehabilitating the headworks including a new Parshall flume flow meter; upgrading to the existing recycle pump station; converting the existing primary clarifiers to gravity thickeners; installing a new supervisory control and data acquisition system; and constructing three Biolac aeration basins with air diffusers, three secondary clarifiers, a return activated sludge/waste activated sludge pump station, a blower building with three 200 horsepower blowers, an additional sludge drying bed, a new operations and laboratory building, and a chemical system storage/feed facility.
