Document Description
The California Water Services Company is proposing to remove sulfides in the water through contact time with free chlorine. The free chlorine is injected into piping containing raw well water prior to entering the tanks. The treated tank effluent water will be disinfected with chlorine and ammonia and pumped into the distribution system using a new 100-HP motor and booster pump. The injection of the chlorine and ammonia will occur in piping located between the tanks and booster pump vessel, which will facilitate dynamic mixing and allow for formation of chloramines.
