Document Description
The subject quarry is located approximately 2 miles northeast of the City of Soledad on 513 acres. The quarry operates on approximately 53.9 acres in the central part of the property processing Gneissic quartz diorite. Fractured rock material will be ripped and pushed across the slope or down slope to the crusher. Site materials are used for rip rap, drain rock, rock chip, and road base. The quarry has been in operation since the early 1920's with varying levels of operation. The owner, Syar Industries, is extending their existing Use Permit (PC-7477) for another 35 years.
