Document Description
The project proposes the development of a Driver Training Center (DTC) on the property. A DTC is a live track instructional driving facility. The facility will be used primarily for teaching defensive and emergency driving techniques to public safety agencies. The DTC will also provide driver safety classes for members of the public who will pay for the classes. The DTC will be operated and maintained by the San Jose Police Department. The proposed DTC will include the following components: a city street grid, colission avoidance strip, skid pad, clasroom buildings, vehicle storage carport, surface parking lot, and operational and security lighting. Training activities will begin at 7:00 am and end at 10:00 pm, Monday through Sunday with most operations occuring from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Saturday.
