Document Description
The proposed project includes hydraulic dredging a small portion of the Martinez Marina to a maximum depth of -9 feet MLLW with an additional 1 foot of over dredge allowance. The estimated maximum volume of dredged material per event is 50,000 cubic yards over a surface area of approx. 7.5 acres. It is likely that over the life this permit, two separate dredging events will occur totaling a maximum of 100,000 cubic yards of material being removed. Sediment will be removed using a cutterhead hydraulic suction dredge and with material being conveyed via an 8- to 12-inch diameter pipe to the City of Martinez upland disposal ponds located southeast of the marina. This Amendment No. 1 will extend the work window from Nov. 30, 2017 to Dec. 15, 2017 only. This increase in the work window will not result in the increase in the volume of material dredged, but may expose covered species to potential take at the same rate as covered in the original ITP. The Amendment referenced above as issued by CDFW authorizes incidental take of species listed under CESA that may occur as a result of Project implementation.
