Document Description
CDFW has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement No. 1600-2015-0517-R1, pursuant to section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project Applicant, Lowell L. Novy.
The project is limited to two components associated with the Novy pump diversion (Novy Pump): (1) the diversion of water from Shasta River for irrigation and stock water; and (2) operation and management of diversion intake and fish screen including removal sediments. The Novy Pump diverts up to 5.5 cubic feet per second (cfs) and operates on average 31 days per month from March to Nov. Approx. 465 acres are irrigated with this diversion, solely on Permittee's property. Throughout the year water is pumped from the Novy Pump with a one horsepower submersible pump used to fill two 600 gallon stock water troughs. The Novy Pump was installed in approx. 2009 and was funded by the 2008 Klamath River Restoration Grant Program. Maintenance of the diversion intake and fish screen involves the periodic removal of silt around the fish screen using hand tools including shovels, small pumps to displace or remove silt, or a small excavator located above the stream banks.
