Document Description
The project consists of a proposed performing arts center academic support building on the Soka University of America campus in Aliso Viejo. The performing arts center will house a 1,000 seat theater. The tallest portion of the building will be approximately 70 feet tall and is located on the lowest elevation of the property to diminish its heights in relation to Founders Hall. The adjacent academic support building is four stores high and will include classrooms, faculty offices and a 200-seat repertory theater.
The site currently has a land designation of Community Facilities. Community Facilities allows for the proposed uses on the Soka University of America campus. The project is located on University Circle between Founders Hall and Pauling Hall on the campus. The project parking on-site will be provided within the existing parking on the campus of Soka University of America.
The project will require City approval of a Site Development Permit and a Conditional Use Permit.
